I look forward to getting to know you, but first, allow me to introduce myself:
I am a sinner in love with my Savior.
I love high-heeled boots and flipflops.
I’m an introvert – but I love others deeply. So just because I don’t speak to you when we are in the same room, doesn’t mean I don’t like you, it just means that I’m loving you from afar.
Oh and I write… a lot.
I have loved writing for as long as I can remember. Even before I learned to read and write, I would pretend to write stories by making squiggly lines on pieces of paper. While I have always wanted to be an author, I learned early on that it was one of those taboo professions. Unrealistic, I believe is what they called it. So I moved on to more ‘realistic’ pursuits.
In 2007 I gave birth to twin girls. This was significant in my writing career because it forced me to become a stay-at-home mom. Having four small children at home made it impossible to afford daycare so I could work outside of the home. I started volunteering for a couple of online ministries in 2008, and in 2009 I began writing and editing devotions for teen girls for one of the ministry FindYourTrueBeauty.com. The more I did this, the more I fell in love with it. I had always loved writing, and it was great to be writing for a good cause.
Now, here I am today, an internationally best-selling and award winning author, speaker, author coach, and book reviewer — and I love every minute of it. I currently live in Texas with my husband (Paul) and our four children. I helped found the weekly women’s Bible study at my local church and am honored with the responsibility of preparing our study lessons. I spend my days studying God’s Word, encouraging those around me, and getting candid about faith, failure, and forgiveness.
